Charles Meade (Jr.) Mckee

Charles Meade McKee Jr. age 82, of McDonald, passed on Wednesday, November 22, 2023.

He was born September 22, 1941 in McDonald; a son of Charles Meade Sr. and Gertrude Mucha McKee.

Mr. McKee was a graduate of McDonald High School, class of 1959. This was the last class to graduate from McDonald, High School. He then went to college at Slippery Rock University and graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Physical education. After his schooling he began working for Woodville State Hospital as a Recreational Therapist until they closed. He then worked for Mayview State Hospital where he retired in 1999.

Charles was a proud member of his high school basketball team that never lost a section game in his four years of playing. He coached for the Fort Cherry Little Rangers Football organization for 25 years. He was a member of the McDonald Lions Club. Charles enjoyed golfing and spending time with his grandchildren.

On December 23, 1959 he married, Sandra “Sandy” McKee, who passed on January 26, 2021.

Surviving are two children Charles Meade (Charlene) McKee III of Loris SC., and Mauriann (Timothy) Curtis of Imperial; a sister, Sally (Michael) Schultz of Hickory; four grandchildren, Joshua McKee, Charles Meade McKee IV, Brandon Curtis and Tyler Curtis; and twelve great-grandchildren, Kendra, Bently, Rose, Charlize, Kloey, Charles Meade McKee V, and Aubree McKee, Easton, Cecilia, Nolan, Camden, and Hayden Curtis.

Family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Monday, November 27, 2023 at Graff- Nation Funeral and Cremation Services LLC., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald. Everyone is asked to meet at St. Alphonsus worship site of St. Isidore the Farmer Parish where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 am Tuesday, November 28, 2023. Burial will follow in Robinson Run Cemetery, McDonald. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Heritage Public Library, 52 Fourth St. McDonald, PA 15057.
