Cecelia G. (Hartsik) Marencel

June 16, 1923 — April 26, 2016

Cecelia G. Marencel, 92, of McDonald, died Thursday, April 28, 2016 at Golden Living Center of South Hills, Canonsburg.

She was born June 16, 1923 in Primrose, a daughter of the late Michael and Josephine Hartsik.

Mrs. Marencel was a longtime receptionist for Dr. Hohman in McDonald.

She was a member of St. Alphonsus R.C. Church and the church Altar Society.

Mrs. Marencel and her husband were seen most weekends polka dancing, and she loved to play Bingo.

On July 24, 1948, she married John J. Marencel, who died April 24, 2003.

Surviving are two daughters, Carolyn A. (Bruce) Boocks of Canonsburg and Nancy J. (Donnie) Chytil of Bridgeville; four grandchildren, Michael (Traci) Boocks, Michele (Patrick) Walters, Ashley (Michael) Harrington and Christin Chytil; and three great grandchildren, Wyatt Michael Thomas Boocks, Gunner Trey Boocks and Brock John Walters.

Deceased are three brothers, Frank, Matthew and George Hartsik; and four sisters, Ann Hartsik, Mary Treibsch, Theresa Openbrier and Elizabeth Marencel.

Friends will gather at 12:00 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2016 at St. Alphonsus R.C. Church, McDonald, for a Memorial Mass that will be celebrated at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Ben Vaghetto, celebrant. Committal will follow at National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fort Cherry Ambulance Service, 8200 Noblestown Rd., McDonald, PA 15057 or Aseracare Hospice, 300 Penn Center Blvd Suite 602, Pittsburgh, PA 15235.
