Carroll Lee (Engle) Bish

Carroll Lee Bish (Engle), 79, passed away in her home with her family at her side on October 23, 2014.

She was born December 21, 1934 in Coraopolis, a daughter of Harry R. R. and Ruth Jane (Swoager) Engle.

Mrs. Bish worked for many years as a manager at the Officers Club at the Nike Site in Oakdale, as a manager at Cherry Hills Country Club in McDonald and as the deli manager at Petrucci’s Market in Burgettstown. She retired from Fallen Timbers Golf Club in Midway.

She was an accomplished cook and baker and was known in the area for her cookies and pastries. She loved her family, crossword puzzles, reading scripture and her dogs. She will be missed every day, by her best friends Apache and Alice.

On July 21, 1951, she married James Alvin Bish who died May 15, 2000.

Surviving are three sons, James "Buck" (Christine) Bish of McDonald, Ronny "Chic" (Becky) Bish of Catlettsburg, KY and Scott (Deanna) Bish of Midway; a daughter, Beverly (the late Joseph) Goldie of Washington; a sister, Janet (the late Joseph) Levine of Philadelphia; six grandchildren, Tim Bish, Cassie (Clint) Semerod, Randee (Michael) Anastasia , Jared and Aubrey Goldie and the love of her life for the last 18 years, Noah Bish; 4 great grandchildren, Timmy Bish, Tristen, Logan and Michaela Semerod; and many nieces and nephews scattered around the country.

Deceased in addition to her husband is a brother, Harry Engle.

Friends will be received from 12 – 3 and from 6 – 8 p.m. Sunday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where services will be at 3:00 p.m. Sunday afternoon with Pastor Mike Clark of Legacy Baptist Church, Canonsburg, officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Washington County Humane Society, 1527 Pennsylvania 136, North Strabane, PA 15330 or Angel Ridge Animal Rescue, 390 Old Hickory Ridge Rd, Meadowlands, PA 15347.
