Carole Lee (Hohn) Moreau

August 10, 1943 — August 30, 2023

Carole Lee (Hohn) Moreau, 80 of McDonald, died peacefully on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, in the Donnell House. Carole was born on August 10, 1943, in Oakdale; a daughter of Robert and Francis Hohn. Carole was a lifelong attender of the Independent Bible Presbyterian Church in McDonald, where her faith grew strong.

Carole was a volunteer of MARA and an honorary member of the McDonald Volunteer Fire Department. She worked at dollar general, groceries plus more, and Subway in McDonald. Her unconditional love for family, especially her grandchildren was unprecedented. She loved having large family holiday gatherings and summer picnics for all of her family.

If you were ever fortunate enough to have any of her delicious cooked meals or baked goods, you knew calling yourself lucky was a understatement! In a way, the Moreau family had a version of the “fresh fifteen” that some students experience in college, reverentially known as the Carole Fifteen.

Surviving are her children, Tammy (Jim) Leadbitter, Lonny Robertson, Kevin (Jodi) Robertson, Danny (Kirsten) Robertson, and Marie (Al) Maximovich, Robert (Dawn) Moreau and Tracy (Dave) Hartner; a daughter-in-law, Sally (Mike) Dumaret; 15 grandchildren, Dorie (Rich) Duesenbery, Loni (Nick) Graves, Breanna Wilson, Kody, Carleigh, Sarah, Kerri, Shawn, and Ethan Robertson, Eastin Maximovich, Jadyn, Joe and Lainey Hartner, Randy and Jenny Moreau; great grandchildren, Abigail, Maggie, and Ryker Duesenberry, Colbie Graves, Sofie and Everleigh Moreau; a brother Ken (Sharon) Hohn; a sister Lois (George) Kelvington, and Donna (Ray) Zorzeliski. Carole shared her life with longtime companion, Harold Purdy and her fur baby Angel.

Deceased is her late husband’s Richard Moreau and Henry “Herk” Robertson; three brothers Robert (Virginia), Glenn (Linda), Edward (Surviving Pat) Hohn; three sisters, Virginia “Ginny” (late Frank) Karem, Patsy (William ) Handrick and Kathy (Late Jerry) Guzzo.

At the request of Carole there will be no visitation and a memorial gathering will be determined at a later date. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Graff-Nation Funeral and Cremation Service LLC. 218 E. Lincoln Ave. McDonald, PA. 15057.
