Calvin James Dewey

April 26, 1932 — October 19, 2015

Calvin James Dewey, 83, of McDonald, died Monday, October 19, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his family.

He was born April 26, 1932 in McDonald, a son of the late Joseph Augusta and Thelma Mae (Stokes) Dewey.

Mr. Dewey was a graduate of McDonald High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

He worked as a steel worker with J&L Steel in Aliquippa for 27 years. He also worked as a police officer for Robinson Township, Washington County for 18 years and was a 2 term Supervisor for Robinson Township.

Mr. Dewey was a member of First United Methodist Church of McDonald and the United Steel Workers of America.

He enjoyed hunting and fishing, but loved time spent with his family and granddaughter.

On September 24, 1954, he married Clara Ann Miller, who died September 6, 2009.

Surviving are two sons, James Richard (Leslie) Dewey of Aliquippa and Jeffrey Robert Dewey of Pittsburgh; and a granddaughter, Kylie Elizabeth Dewey.

Deceased are a sister, Gloria Joy Piazza; and a brother, Dennis Dewey.

Friends will be received from 2 – 4 and from 6 – 8 p.m. Thursday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E.
