Betty Jane (Dupain) Cook

March 4, 1938 — May 22, 2012

Betty Jane Cook, 74, of McDonald, died Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at Donnell House, Washington.

She was born March 4, 1938 in Pittsburgh, the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth (Gentile) Dupain.

Mrs. Cook worked for 40 years as a Nursing Assistant. She worked at many local facilities including the former John J. Kane, Bridgeville and Country Meadows, Bridgeville before retiring in 2000.

She was a member of the McDonald V.F.W. Post #567, Ladies Auxiliary and loved to read and play cards.  She enjoyed rose gardening, camping and her dog Teddy, but most important in her life were her grandchildren, great grandchildren and her family.

On May 3, 1956 she married Donald Cook, who survives.

Also surviving are two daughters, Beth (Fred) Bohling of Berlin, NJ and Terri (Dale McElhany) Springer of McDonald; two sons, Donald (Priscilla) Cook, Jr. and David (Alicia) Cook, both of McDonald; two brothers, Donald (Katie) Dupain of Cherry Valley and Ronald (Robbie) Dupain of Avella; nine grandchildren, Rob (Bobbie) Springer, Shannon (Justin) Schiavo, Holly (Daniel) Porter, Ryan, Cory, Troy, Jesse, Collin and Kaylee Cook; and five great grandchildren, Robbie Springer, Jacob and Michael Schiavo, Kylie and Colby Porter.

Deceased are three brothers, Robert, Bill and George Dupain.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and from 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Nation Funeral Home, Inc., 220 E. Lincoln Ave., McDonald, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 25 with Rev. Jack Emerick, pastor of Grove U.P.
