Anne R. Anestis

Anne R. Anestis, age 96, of McDonald, passed Sunday, March 3, 2024.

She was born June 11, 1927 in Langeloth, PA; a daughter of Joseph and Katherine Krynak Rash.

Anne was a graduate of Burgettstown High School.  She then received her Bachelor’s and Masters from the University of Pittsburgh. Anne taught 5th grade at Chartiers Valley then became assistant principal. Later, shewas an English instructor at Penn State and Community College of Beaver County.

On August 16, 1950, she married Plato Anestis, who passed on June 10, 2004.

Anne & Plato loved to travel. Together they enjoyed Europe, Hawaii, and various cruises. In 1955, they pulled a small trailer on the gravel ALKAN highway to Alaska. Anne loved spoiling her hobby farm animals and played bingo when she could. In Anne’s younger years she was a member of the McDonald Garden Club and worked at the McDonald Library, known today as the Heritage Public Library.

Surviving are two children, Dianne K. (Doug Wood) Anestis of Hurricane WV, and Thomas J. Anestis of McDonald, as well as beloved nieces and nephews

Deceased are two sisters, Mary Kuzyck and Kathryn Blehi, and two brothers, John and Joseph Rash.

Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 2-4 and 6-8PM at Graff – Nation Funeral and Cremation Service LLC. 218 E. Lincoln Ave. McDonald, PA. 15057; where services will take place Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 11:00AM. Interment will follow at Robinson Run Cemetery.
